I first discovered Bettys Burgers when I was in Noosa. I was hesitant at first but I told the server I was Coeliac and they talked me through the steps they follow to minimise cross contamination, and yelled out gluten free COELIAC order coming through. So I felt less nervous eating here, and I’d recommend you talk to your particular store about the steps they take to minimise cross contamination. For me they changed their gloves, toasted the gluten free buns separately, used fresh ingredients and had a separate frier for chips.
I usually get a grilled chicken with gluten free bun and request chicken and bun grilled on dedicated gluten free area or freshly cleaned surfaces. But bare betty and classic vegan are also gluten free. Salads and thick-shakes are gluten free. Can also have a salad wrapped burger- was messy when i tried it but another option.
The Choc and Vanilla ice-cream are gluten free- and the add ons that are gluten free are meringue, lemon curd, raspberries and caramel sauce.
Things i like

I have read some good and bad reviews about the Newcaslte store so please ask the right questions and don’t eat there if you feel they don’t understand on the day.
Whilst coeliacs have reported safe dinning at each of these restaurants, remember to always be your own health advocate and let the restaurant know your specific needs. We recommend calling ahead to discuss ways to avoid cross contamination so you have a safe and confident dining experience.
